We have over 1,000 friendly families in South East Queensland and Northern NSW who welcome our international students into their homes and hearts. If you would like to join them, please complete the Host Family Application form. One of our friendly Homestay Family Coordinators will get in touch with you to arrange an interview time and to explain how our service works.
Being a host family provides you and your family with a lovely cultural experience and an opportunity to meet people from different countries and living types. You will have friends from all around the world and often the students maintain contact with their host brothers and sisters to continue the relationship.
You will be fairly remunerated to cover the costs of having another person in your home. This is not considered income by the ATO but it is accepted that the remuneration paid covers the costs involved.
A key factor to any successful visit, whether for study, work or vacation, is accommodation. This is particularly true for students where it is their first time away from their home country and their parents. We have developed a Homestay and accommodation program to ensure the following experience for students:
Please note that all permanent residents of a host family aged over 18 years must hold a current Queensland Blue Card. We can assist with Blue Card registration.
